Due to rumors and some talks of Chris Evans on his return, the MCU fans are getting excited in order to see Chris Evans AKA Captain America back in MCU. Let us have a look to clear that Chris Evans may return to MCU or not.
Some of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes’ adventures were brought to a proper finish in Avengers: Endgame, and one of them were Chris Evans’ Captain America. The saga of the Star-Spangled Avenger concluded happily, with the character eventually getting his just desserts by Hayley Atwell’s Peggy Carter. There are, however, lingering issues concerning Steve Rogers yet to be addressed.
The introduction of Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson also as MCU’s new Captain America in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was a huge step forward. Even so, the Disney+ series didn’t say if Rogers remains alive or even gave an indication as to where he may be.
While fans wait for a definite update on the original Captain America’s possible return, Evans made some interesting comments regarding the subject in a new interview.
Evans spoke on his comeback
Chris Evans discussed the prospect of return as Captain America again for Marvel Cinematic Universe while promoting the impending international release of Lightyear.
Evans initially revealed his comeback in an interview in Comicbook, saying that Star-Spangled Avenger return all six Infinity Stones during Avengers: Endgame “is something fans would like to see.” The MCU veteran, though, noted that it’d be a “big order” for him, considering the fact that he’d already had a “nice run.”
Despite his reservations about return to the “precious” post, Evans indicated he is willing to do so if the circumstances are “ideal”:
Chris Evans spoke on his comeback :-“That seems to be something people would like to see. I don’t want to disappoint anybody but it’s tough to… It was such a good run and I’m so happy with it. It’s so precious to me. It would have to be perfect. It just would be scary to rattle something that is, again, so, so dear to me. That role means so much to me. So, to revisit it, it would be a tall order.”
Evans is slated to reprise his role as Captain America in such an unnamed movie in January 2021, according to Deadline, who also revealed that the actor will reprise his role as Steve Rogers “in at least one Marvel movie with both the doors wide open for a second feature.” According to the source, the rumoured project is unrelated to Anthony Mackie’s Captain America 4.
Possibility of Chris Evans to return in Avenger 5
Given that MCU is currently investigating the Multiverse, Chris Evans’ Captain America may make a surprise return in a variety of ways. However, the actor recently stated that he would return to the role if the tale makes sense, and that a story set inside the past is the greatest match.
It’s probable that Marvel Studios didn’t want to reveal Steve Rogers’ quest to return the six Infinity Stones to its various timelines, and that it’s being saved for a future movie. The eagerly awaited reunion of Rogers as well as the Red Skull, paired with a high-stakes story, provides enough of fodder.
Between the events in Civil War and Infinity War, Steve Rogers’ experiences with Scarlet Johansson’s Black Widow with Sam Wilson make sense for a Steve Rogers-centric movie.
Still, there’s really no better way for the MCU vet to make a big comeback than to appear in another Avengers film.
While Avengers 5 is indeed a ways off, Evans making a Portals-style return, similar to the situation in Avengers: Endgame, would be an appropriate method to handle his return. This doesn’t rule out the possibility of Steve Rogers rescuing the day, but it would be in character for him to impart his knowledge to the present lineup of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
The speculated Captain America 4 might possibly include a cameo appearance by Steve Rogers, which could pave the way for his anticipated solo movie.
In any event, Evans’ willingness to return is a good sign again for MCU as it widens its storytelling options.
